Lisa Muswagon

Pimicikamak Cree Nation

Lisa Muswagon is a Nakoda Cree Member of the Pimicikamak Cree Nation also known as Cross Lake in Northern Manitoba. She currently resides in Treaty one at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Muswagon launched the Winahwinikewin Search Project at St Joseph’s Indian Residential School. Through her learning experience and the tools of skills acquired, she took some time to navigate with her husband, a dialysis patient suffering Stage 5 kidney failure.  Lisa then joined the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs as Special Projects Policy Analyst for Unmarked Graves and Missing  Children assisting Manitoba First Nations launch their Unmarked burials and missing children projects. Currently she is a performing artist duo with her husband sharing the message she gained through her work and facilitates workshops on unmarked burial projects archive development. Her husband recently received a kidney transplant and is on her way to enjoy the best out of life while sharing with others the ancestral work.
