Kelsey, born in the Muskoka’s and now residing in North Bay, Ontario, is deeply rooted in community service and Indigenous rights. She holds a degree in Human Rights and Human Diversity from Wilfrid Laurier University, with previous experience in youth justice, Anishinaabe Child Well-Being, and teaching at the Anishinabek Education Institute. In 2021, after the tragic discovery of 215 anomalies at the Kamloops Indian Residential School, Kelsey helped establish a project to support Survivors, provide access to records, and create educational materials. She was honored with a Grand Council Chief Award in 2024 for her dedication to this important work.
