Kate Decter is honoured to work for Sioux Valley Dakota Nation in Manitoba as part of the Brandon Residential School Missing Children Investigation. With a background in forensics and bioarchaeology, Kate has supported both municipal and provincial law enforcement, as well as contributed to archaeological recoveries and the repatriation of Ancestral remains. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Manitoba, where her research focused on immunogenetics and infectious disease susceptibilities. Currently specializing in environmental health, Kate is committed to advancing water quality monitoring, policy and microbial profiling to support the health and well-being of Manitoba communities.
