Brennan Manoakeesick is the Director of Intergovernmental Relations with Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO), where he has worked since 2009. Over the years, he has served as Assistant to two successive Grand Chiefs and later as Chief of Staff. In March 2025, Brennan was appointed as an Expert Member to the United Nations Declaration Act (UNDA) Action Plan Advisory Committee (APAC) by the federal Minister of Justice. He has been a strong advocate for addressing the impacts of Indian Residential Schools, including co-creating legislation to support the repatriation of ancestral remains and the protection of unmarked burial sites. Brennan is from Garden Hill and Ebb & Flow First Nations in Manitoba and is the proud father of two boys, Isaiah and Kisis.
